What it means

The canonical points at a URL that is external or was never crawled, so its status is unknown and cannot be verified.

How to fix it

Check the target resolves and is indexable. If it is on another host, confirm cross-domain canonicalisation is really what you want.

Where to find it in Truelint

Open the Issues pane on the right of the workspace and select Canonical Outside Crawl. The grid filters to every affected URL and the detail pane shows the specific finding for each. Export the list with Export → Current view, or from the API:
